Entering the work force can be a nightmare. Times have changed and technology will keep the times changing much too quickly for many people to catch up to it. What were considered hot jobs 10 years ago may not be the case now. Many people have suffered lay-offs and some are pushed back into the work force due to a declining economy and sky-rocketing prices that one income just can’t handle. When entering the work force, many things must be considered. Health benefits, 401k, raise increases, and eventually retirement. Not all companies offer these perks and it can be tough deciding what type of career will work best for you and what you enjoy doing. According to the Bureau of Labor service, industries have the brightest future. Other jobs that are growing and in constant need of good workers is the health care profession, followed by teachers, sales, food service, gaming, mechanics, cleaning services, managers, and construction. Due to many business’s going under, many people are forced to train in something that they are unfamiliar with and many times must settle for a smaller salary. The fastest growing group of workers to hit the job market will be senior citizens. This is due mainly from our economies decline. Women will also be seen more in the work place as they are becoming the bread winners more so then just a few decades ago. More men are becoming interested in the health care profession, and it is not uncommon to see male nurses as the pay allows them to adequately care for their families. The times has definitely changed, and we as a society must do whatever possible to keep up with these changes or we will be left behind not knowing what hit us.
