The World of Elatec

Sunday, December 16th, 2007 by Louise

Elatec is a world of electronics fit for electrical novices or experts. The four key major business units that you can explore are: RFID, Electronic Components, Cards & Services and Security Solutions.

RFID, which stands for Radio-Frequency Identification, products have become an increasingly big role in today’s world of electronics. The RDIF solutions provided at Elatec are costumer-specific, because Elatec is a “highly specialized developer, manufacturer and distributor of RFID products. The large portfolio of RFID readers contains frequencies from 125 kHz to 5.8 GHz. Elatec is a supporter of ISO standards. All readers or cards that operate on a 13.56 MHz frequency and offer a maximum read of up to 50 inches are held to the standard of ISO 15693. The same frequencies apply for the RFID Transponders. These transponders are in the form of cards, coins, labels, glass & metal tags, and key fobs. Elatec is “specialized in consultancy during design in process of custom designed transponders.”

Do you know what SIM technology is? If you don’t, it’d be a good idea to look into what SIM applications are. These applications are becoming increasingly widespread. Across the globe SIM development has reached a point where it is a standard system for global communications. ETSI has approved a set of commands that enable SIM application cards to introduce new services to mobile devices. (This includes banking and Internet access, both on a secure network.) These applications can even manipulate a mobile menu to authenticate users for service access.

Among Cards & Services, Elatec offers a wide range of card encoding options. They can encode the magnetic stripe case of a magnetic stripe cards and the encoding of the chip case of a smart card.

Also growing in the banking business is the use of EMV Cards. These cards are the safer alternative to the use of magnetic strip banking cards. EMV Cards reduce the risk of fraud and misuse. There are SDA (Static Data Authentication) and DDA (Dynamic Data Authentication) cards. DDA cards are more sophisticated. Elatec can help you find fast support, flexibility, and competitive prices for either (any nearly anything else in the Electronics world).

Advertising Products that Pamper

Advertising Products That Pamper

Isn’t it totally fabulous when your employees or clients just eagerly grab your advertising specialties and use them daily on their own? How does one make that happen? What promotional products do you select to build solid brandname recognition and fidelity?

The answer is – try to understand the life of modern office workers better! Modern office workers deal with the electronic document turnover and they don’t use a much paper for business activities anymore. Rather they spend most of the day using just their computer, mouse and keyboard. So what choice of promo gifts does this leave us with? You wont get away with obvious choices like logo mugs, keychains or custom pens because they don’t use them that much anymore! These do seem like a classic (classic games) solution but are too commonplace.

What if this desktop contrivance would waggle and catch people’s eye? A rocking memo holder can do that! It really rocks, tilts and swivels and also has 2 big imprint areas for your logo and promotional message. That is a great co-branding idea, isn’t it?

Calling Card

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 by admin

Telephone cards, calling cards, call cards, or phone cards, are credit card looking items that are used to pay for telecommunications usage. Calling cards usually come in the form of a pre-payment type, where the buyer purchases a card that specifies a specific amount of funds (e.g. $20) or a specific amount of time (e.g. 500 minutes). It then acts as a debit system where the funds or the minutes are deducted as phone calls are made. This process is especially popular with international calling cards, where people buy cards for specific countries with which they wish to call.

The other main type of calling card is one that has an account number and a PIN that is connected to a telephone billing system. Users make phone calls and the telecommunications charges are then charged to their cell phone or home phone number. These types of plans are more popular with travelers and people that have established telephone accounts.

There are a multitude of telephone companies that offer calling cards of both types. A consumer should do their research before hand to make sure the card they buy is from a reputable company. With the explosion of the Internet there are many online calling cards to choose from.

Dating Over Fifty

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007 by Sheila Collins

As a great majority of the baby boomers enter their golden years (myself included), many of us will find ourselves in the dating arena once again, most often due to divorce and widowhood. Clearly, dating is not what it was when we were in our teens or early twenties. This time around, the dating pool has shrunk considerably and the pickings are slim. In fact, statistically, a woman over fifty probably has a better chance of being named to man the next space flight to Mars, as she does of finding Mr. Right.

Here’s a short “When Sally met Harry” story. The names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Sally and Harry worked together in an office setting. Sally was married when they initially met. Harry was single. Sally had no particular interest in Harry and he had none in her. Sally left the job and took another position. Sally and Harry had not seen each other in several years and then they discovered that they rode the same Metra train home. Sally and Harry soon rediscovered each other and found that a lot had changed. Sally was now separated from her husband and Harry was about to get married. They talked on the train about their lives. Harry, who had been a confirmed bachelor, was now constantly talking about his new love. Sally was constantly talking about her soon to be ex-husband. Eventually, Sally fell madly in love with Harry and well, Harry just fell. Unfortunately, Sally threw caution to the wind (even against her better judgment, Harry was 12 years her junior) and after about six-months, the relationship ended. To this day, Sally was never been able to trust her heart, although hope springs eternal. Harry went on to get married. The moral to this story is that the heart of an older woman is a tender thing and should be treated with much care. Don’t give your heart to someone until you’re sure the feeling is being returned. Here’s a list of dating do’s and dont’s:
Do be careful with your heart, there’s no fool like an old.
Do explore the promise of each new day, because tomorrow is not promised.
Don’t give up on love, because “love don’t love no one”.
Don’t let your age stand in the way of real love, after all age is just a number.
Even if your heart has led you astray, don’t give up. The promise of each new day remains a constant in this life. Love might be just around the corner.

Women Only Traveling

Saturday, December 1st, 2007 by Della Davis

Women traveling in groups with only other women is a big trend in travel today. Many women have the time, resources, and the desire to travel, but do not have a willing partner or friend to travel with. To address this problem there are now many groups offering woman-travel, or women-only tours.

Many of these tours are learning based tours, where a new skill such as how to tango, or sail, shot landscape photography, ethnic cooking or writing is learned, or perfected. Other tours are geographical, such as exploring New Mexico (Car Hire USA), or places in Asia, or spending a week in Paris attending fashion shows and shopping (Car Hire France). Easy or “soft” adventure tours are also popular. This type of trip would involve day-hikes rather than mountain climbing, or rafting on calm rivers rather than kayaking whitewater rivers. Soft adventure trips are generally still in remote and scenic locations even if the adventure is easy-going.

Women-only tours are usually small, limited to about 14-20 participants and the transportation frequently a combination of airplanes and mini-vans.

Women going alone on this type of tour need to look carefully at the brochures and internet advertising. Make sure the age group and physical capabilities of the tour match your needs. Examine the itinerary carefully, making sure that there is enough, but not too much, unstructured time and that there are optional activities during that time.

Car Buying Tips

Saturday, December 1st, 2007 by Candice Cook

When it comes to buying a car, the main word is RESEARCH. You have a world of information at your fingertips. Read, read, read! Go to the manufacturers’ websites and check out all of the cars you’re interested. Read reviews in auto magazines. Most of all, read the reviews written by regular people. They are very helpful in how you may or may not like a car.

Decide what kind of car you’d like as compared to the conditions you’re going to drive the car in, as well as the amount you’d like to spend. For example, if you are going over a lot of rough terrain (mountains, steep hills, etc.) with pretty bad weather conditions (such as winters in Alaska) and you’re a grad student, you obviously can’t get your dream BMW Z3 2.3 convertible that you fantasize about. A Forerunner would be nice, but it looks as though you are heading in the direction of a Tracker.

Be sure to take test drives. You may like the ride in the passenger seat of your friend’s car, but that doesn’t mean that you’ll like the way it handles as you drive it. You may be too high up. The wheel might not be right. There are a lot of factors that can be determined in a test drive. Don’t EVER buy a car without test driving it first (Car Hire Europe).
